Usability - Net6 Design Studio
Design Interpretive assists Net6 in developing a "point-and-click" development environment that reduces help-desk support.
Net6 is the leading provider of business applications for use on the screens of IP telephones and mobile devices. In addition, customers and developers can easily convert any existing HTML/XML application using the point-and-click Design Studio development environment.
Following the successful launch of Design Studio they observed that the support costs for the product were higher than anticipated. Net6 approached us to improve ease-of-use and work with their head developers to identify and overcome some of the inefficient areas of the user interface.
We reviewed the negative product feedback and conducted an expert usability evaluation. Working closely with the development team we then created user interface design solutions and recommendations that addressed key areas of usability concern. The proposed changes to the design were implemented, and the number of help-desk calls were reduced by 50%.
